Here he shares some of his top tips to getting started on your building journey…
- Set your budget
The first step in any building project is to speak with a qualified financial advisor to establish just how much money you are able to spend. Too many people are disappointed after choosing their dream plans and specification to find out it isn’t within their budget. Having a number to work with is a great starting point.
- Choose your land wisely
The orientation of your block is a cornerstone to the success and ultimate outcome of your project. Achieving the maximum possible natural light in your home, and the orientation of your block are what give your home that ‘just right’ feeling once completed. Being able to choose a block with a great aspect right from the beginning will get you started on the right foot.
- Finding the right builder
Look for a builder who works with you to help you with the above points. Finding or creating a design to both fit within your budget and maximise the use of your block to achieve the beautiful new home you are dreaming of. Ask your builder for references and speak to previous clients to ensure you are comfortable with your decision.
